The short answer
The rule of thumb at Marshall Hauling, serving Marshall, Battle Creek and Calhoun County: if the junk already exists in a pile, junk removal (from $95, we load) is usually cheaper and faster up to about half a trailer. If the debris will appear over days — a remodel, a tear-off — rent the dumpster ($375/$525). The crossover sits near our $525 20 yard: beyond that, who supplies the labor decides it.
